Why IDEA

Specialists in the cases other clinics don't solve

IDEA is an advanced implant clinic in central Madrid. We focus on patients who have been told they don't have enough bone, or that fixed teeth are not possible for them.

01

Complex cases are our focus

Zygomatic, pterygoid and custom implants for severe bone loss, often avoiding months of bone grafting.

02

3D CT scan in the clinic

We study your bone in 3D with our own CS 9600 CT scanner, so diagnosis and planning happen on the same day.

03

Fixed teeth in 24 hours

When the implants are stable enough, you get fixed provisional teeth the day after surgery, made from a digital scan.

04

Sedation by an anaesthetist

Surgery under local anaesthesia and conscious sedation, monitored by a medical anaesthetist throughout.

05

A surgeon-led team

Your surgery is led by Dr. Eloy Bustamante, oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than 15 years in implant surgery.

06

Everything under one roof

Diagnosis, surgery, sedation, prosthodontics and follow-up in one clinic, next to Retiro Park.

Treatments

What international patients come to us for

Anaesthesia with conscious sedation

Afraid of the dentist? Treatment under sedation

Surgery far from home can feel daunting. That's why, at IDEA, implant surgery is usually done under local anaesthesia with IV conscious sedation, administered and monitored by a medical anaesthetist from start to finish.

  • You stay relaxed and calm, breathing on your own, with no pain
  • Most patients barely remember the procedure
  • Continuous monitoring of your vital signs
  • No hospital stay: you go back to your hotel the same day

How conscious sedation works

Before your video call

Get a 3D CT scan where you live

To make the most of your free video consultation, we ask you to get a 3D CT scan of your jaws (also called a CBCT or cone beam CT) and send it to us beforehand. That way the surgeon studies your real bone before the call, and the consultation is based on all the information, not on guesses.

What to ask for

  • A dental 3D CT (CBCT) of both jaws, upper and lower, at any dental radiology centre or dental clinic near you.
  • The DICOM files, not just printed images or a PDF report. Most centres give them on a USB stick, a CD or a download link.
  • If you have it, a recent panoramic X-ray and a few photos of your smile.

How to send it

Once you fill in the form, we reply by email with instructions to send the files securely. If you have a download link from the radiology centre, you can simply send us the link.

No CT scan yet? Request your video call anyway: we will tell you exactly what to ask for.

Treatment in Madrid

Final planning, surgery with sedation and, when possible, fixed teeth before you fly home.

Your trip

A typical first visit for fixed teeth

Every plan is personal, but this is how a first trip for immediate-loading implants usually looks:

  • Day 1 · Diagnosis. Consultation with the specialist, panoramic X-ray and, if considered necessary, a new 3D CT scan in the clinic, and final planning.
  • Day 2 · Surgery. Implants placed under local anaesthesia and conscious sedation with an anaesthetist. A digital scan is taken to make your teeth.
  • Day 3 · Fixed teeth. When implant stability allows it, your fixed provisional teeth are fitted around 24 hours after surgery.
  • Day 4 · Check-up. We review your bite and give you a written aftercare plan before you fly home.

The final, permanent teeth are made once the bone has healed around the implants, usually a few months later. That means a second, shorter trip. We confirm the exact timing for your case during the video consultation.

FAQ

Dental tourism in Madrid: your questions

Is the video consultation really free?

Yes. The first video consultation is free and without obligation. A specialist reviews your case, explains your options and tells you what we need to confirm in Madrid.

What should I send before the video call?

A recent dental 3D CT scan (CBCT) of both jaws, with the DICOM files, plus a few photos of your smile and a short description of your situation. With the CT scan studied in advance, the video consultation is based on your real bone and is much more useful. If you don't have one yet, we tell you exactly what to ask for.

Where can I get a 3D CT scan?

At most dental radiology centres and many dental clinics. Ask for a dental cone beam CT (CBCT) of the upper and lower jaw and for the DICOM files, not only a printed report.

How many days do I need to stay in Madrid?

For fixed teeth with immediate loading, a first trip usually takes about four days. The exact plan depends on your case and we confirm it before you book your flights.

Will I really leave with fixed teeth?

When the implants achieve enough stability, fixed provisional teeth are fitted around 24 hours after surgery. We assess this case by case, and we will tell you honestly if your situation needs a different approach.

How many trips will I need?

Usually two: one for surgery and provisional teeth, and a second, shorter one a few months later for the final teeth. Some cases need an extra visit.

Is the treatment done under general anaesthesia?

We usually work with local anaesthesia and conscious sedation, monitored by a medical anaesthetist, so you are calm and comfortable throughout.

Can I pay in instalments?

We offer tailored financing for treatments. We explain the options once we know your treatment plan.
